Rawlplug SUMMIT 2023 - global summary and plans for the future

A summit meeting: it would be difficult to find a valid alternative description for such an extraordinary event – a cyclical meeting of representatives of Rawlplug’s subsidiary companies from all over the world. What have those several days of talks brought us this time?

Held on a cyclic basis, the meeting of heads and representatives of foreign subsidiaries has already become Rawlplug’s tradition. It is also an excellent opportunity to summarise past achievements and makes plans for the future, but also a unique chance to directly exchange experiences obtained at different markets. We organise them periodically on the premises of one of our companies around the world, and following the events held in Milan, Porto and Budapest, it was Wrocław’s turn this year.

From 5 to 8 November, our HQ hosted the heads and representatives of Rawlplug’s subsidiaries operating in Europe and Asia. The matters addressed over the course of these three days included Rawlplug’s growth targets across all business areas: from strategy and finance to innovations in the sphere of research and development, to the offering – comprising products and services, the latter including both technical on-site assistance and support for designers – and finally to the POS services for distributors. The crowning moment of the event was a discussion on the development of integrated communication with customers using eRawlplug as well as the available high-end communication channels.

The meetings at the Summit included conference table talks and presentations, but also sessions held at the Rawlplug Academy training centre where we learned about our recent achievements as well as upcoming plans on a hands-on basis. Yet another matter one should definitely not disregard in this context was the opportunity to get to know each other better and network, which surely improves our daily communication on business matters.  

Conversations are our future

There was enough space and time to address nearly all aspects of our regular business during the meetings. Research and development, the POS system offering, services, and software were only some of the spheres we explored. 

Once again, we confirmed that despite being in touch on a daily basis, paying regular visits to individual companies, and engaging in online meetings, a real-life clash of experience enabled on such a scale invariably remains a source of great ideas and unexpected sales solutions.

The product presentations placed emphasis on our top – both recent and future – products and services. Individual Rawlplug Academy training stations were set up to practice using the fixings (Procut wood screw, R-HLX concrete screw, R-GOK-II sleeve for flat roof applications), hand tools (plumber’s range from Modeco Expert), and power tools which we intend to launch next year. Some further highlights of the event included technical support and our power tool rental service. 

In this great company of colleagues, we wrapped up this year’s achievements of our company in the sphere of the product range and presented some future projects. The sheer scale of our plans in this area surprised not only our guests, but also those HQ employees who are not directly involved with our product development department. The most interesting aspect of these meetings was certainly the opportunity to have a closer look at customer expectations as well as product-related needs typical of countries that are not so distant and yet often tend to be very different. This is a source of invaluable knowledge about how to shape our offering for different markets and what is missing in these markets.

A lot of excitement was stirred by the meetings devoted to the revolutionary company-wide digitisation strategy. We managed to demonstrate how effective our Polish e-commerce platform was over its first few months of operation and how prospective similar actions can be when applied in other markets. 

It was impressive to see all of us, regardless of the country of origin and operation, being fully aware of the role online communication plays today. The contemporary digital tools, which we use in various forms all over the world, allow us to be closer to those who are most important to our business – namely our customers. Being closer means facilitating their access to the best products and services, and gathering information about what they need and how we can help them with their daily challenges. We have exchanged experiences gained in very different markets and reached full agreement: implementing state-of-the-art tools and building regular channels of online communication with customers is simply our future.

2024 Summit – what will we be up against?

We don’t know yet what exactly the next year will bring. We will surely share experiences from the implementation of our new product or service range, collect feedback from local markets, and exchange good practices. We certainly hope to meet in an equally large, if not larger group.
